About Kisspeptin-10

Kisspeptin-10 is the ten amino acid active fragment of kisspeptin, a protein encoded by the KISS1 gene. Its discovery reframed how the reproductive axis is understood: kisspeptin neurons in the hypothalamus sit upstream of GnRH release, which means they sit upstream of LH, FSH and therefore of testosterone and oestrogen production.

Published human work is genuinely present, largely from Imperial College London, covering pulsatile LH release, its use as a diagnostic tool in hypogonadotropic hypogonadism, and its investigation as a trigger in IVF protocols. The half life is very short, measured in minutes, which is the practical constraint that dominates the literature.

Where the evidence sits:

kisspeptin has real human data behind it, more than most peptides sold in this format, but almost all of it is acute physiology and diagnostic work in controlled settings rather than repeated administration. It holds no medicines licence anywhere and is supplied strictly as a research chemical.

The pen format

A very short half life means the interesting research protocols involve small, frequent administrations rather than a single large one. Dialling 500mcg from a pen and putting it back in the fridge is a materially different proposition to reconstituting a vial and racing its stability clock.

Choosing between Kisspeptin-10, HCG and HMG

All three touch the reproductive axis and they enter it at completely different points.

HCG

mimics LH at the testicular receptor, which is why it works even when the axis above it is fully suppressed: it does not need the signal, it replaces it.

HMG

adds FSH activity, which is the half HCG cannot supply.

Kisspeptin sits above both, acting on the hypothalamic neurons that drive GnRH. That makes it the wrong tool for a suppressed axis on cycle, because there is nothing downstream listening, and the reason its research clusters instead around diagnostics and around restarting a functioning system rather than substituting for a shut down one.
